What is National [Re]building Day?
National [Re]building Day is an annual day of service when volunteers from corporate partners, organizations, places of worship, and individuals nationwide come together to provide critical, no-cost home repairs to ensure our neighbors live in safe and healthy homes.

Accepting Applications February 12, 2026 through March 3, 2026 at 2 PM
We are accepting applications from homeowners in the Ivy Farms Community of Newport News!
If you:
Live in the Ivy Farms neighborhood of Newport News
Own your home and have lived in it for more than 2 years,
Occupy your home full time,
Are current on your homeowners insurance and property taxes,
Meet the income requirements below, you may qualify for repairs on your home.
Income Limits
Total annual gross income (before taxes and deductions), from all family members in the household who live in the home, must not exceed the family size and income limits listed below. All employment income, child support, disability, social security, alimony, etc. will be counted for the family.

Whether you’re skilled in construction or eager to lend a helping hand, your participation helps [Re]pair homes, [Re]vitalize communities, and [Re]build lives! There are various volunteer opportunities available for all skill levels!
Individual Opportunities
As a skilled or unskilled volunteer, you can assist with projects during National Rebuilding Day! You’ll be assigned a project house to work on with other volunteers and a House Captain.
House Captian Opportunities
The house captain serves as the leader and onsite supervisor of the project house, directing the enthusiasm, and energy of a group of 5-10 volunteers on the project house and providing technical support and direction for the project. This is a skilled/semi-skilled volunteer role.
